Dr Marie-Louise Coolahan is lecturer in English at the National University of Ireland, Galway. She edited the Katherine Philips section in the anthology Early Modern Women’s Manuscript Poetry (Manchester, 2005), and has published on the early circulation of Philips’s poetry. Her book Women, Writing, and Language in Early Modern Ireland (Oxford, 2010) includes a study of Philips’s writings in Ireland.
Dr Gillian Wright is senior lecturer in English literature at the University of Birmingham. The co-editor of Early Modern Women’s Manuscript Poetry, she has also published on Philips’s retirement lyrics. Her book Producing Women’s Poetry, 1600-1730 (Cambridge, 2013) includes a chapter on the early manuscript and print witnesses to Philips’s poetry.
